REMARKS BY THE US PRESIDENT Obama ON OSAMA BIN LADEN: Death: May 1st’ 2011, Sunday, 10:30 PM: Blog By – MD Alam

Good evening. Tonight, I can report to the American people and to the world that the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of al Qaeda, and a terrorist who’s responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men, women, and children.

It was nearly 10 years ago that a bright September day was darkened by the worst attack on the American people in our history. The images of 9/11 are seared into our national memory — hijacked planes cutting through a cloudless September sky; the Twin Towers collapsing to the ground; black smoke billowing up from the Pentagon; the wreckage of Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where the actions of heroic citizens saved even more heartbreak and destruction.

And yet we know that the worst images are those that were unseen to the world. The empty seat at the dinner table. Children who were forced to grow up without their mother or their father. Parents who would never know the feeling of their child’s embrace. Nearly 3,000 citizens taken from us, leaving a gaping hole in our hearts.

On September 11, 2001, in our time of grief, the American people came together. We offered our neighbors a hand, and we offered the wounded our blood. We reaffirmed our ties to each other, and our love of community and country. On that day, no matter where we came from, what God we prayed to, or what race or ethnicity we were, we were united as one American family.

We were also united in our resolve to protect our nation and to bring those who committed this vicious attack to justice. We quickly learned that the 9/11 attacks were carried out by al Qaeda — an organization headed by Osama bin Laden, which had openly declared war on the United States and was committed to killing innocents in our country and around the globe. And so we went to war against al Qaeda to protect our citizens, our friends, and our allies.

Over the last 10 years, thanks to the tireless and heroic work of our military and our counterterrorism professionals, we’ve made great strides in that effort. We’ve disrupted terrorist attacks and strengthened our homeland defense. In Afghanistan, we removed the Taliban government, which had given bin Laden and al Qaeda safe haven and support. And around the globe, we worked with our friends and allies to capture or kill scores of al Qaeda terrorists, including several who were a part of the 9/11 plot.

Yet Osama bin Laden avoided capture and escaped across the Afghan border into Pakistan. Meanwhile, al Qaeda continued to operate from along that border and operate through its affiliates across the world.

And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda, even as we continued our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat his network.

Then, last August, after years of painstaking work by our intelligence community, I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground. I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of Pakistan. And finally, last week, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice.

Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. A small team of Americans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability. No Americans were harmed. They took care to avoid civilian casualties. After a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body.

For over two decades, bin Laden has been al Qaeda’s leader and symbol, and has continued to plot attacks against our country and our friends and allies. The death of bin Laden marks the most significant achievement to date in our nation’s effort to defeat al Qaeda.

Yet his death does not mark the end of our effort. There’s no doubt that al Qaeda will continue to pursue attacks against us. We must –- and we will — remain vigilant at home and abroad.

As we do, we must also reaffirm that the United States is not –- and never will be -– at war with Islam. I’ve made clear, just as President Bush did shortly after 9/11, that our war is not against Islam. Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader; he was a mass murderer of Muslims. Indeed, al Qaeda has slaughtered scores of Muslims in many countries, including our own. So his demise should be welcomed by all who believe in peace and human dignity.

Over the years, I’ve repeatedly made clear that we would take action within Pakistan if we knew where bin Laden was. That is what we’ve done. But it’s important to note that our counterterrorism cooperation with Pakistan helped lead us to bin Laden and the compound where he was hiding. Indeed, bin Laden had declared war against Pakistan as well, and ordered attacks against the Pakistani people.

Tonight, I called President Zardari, and my team has also spoken with their Pakistani counterparts. They agree that this is a good and historic day for both of our nations. And going forward, it is essential that Pakistan continue to join us in the fight against al Qaeda and its affiliates.

The American people did not choose this fight. It came to our shores, and started with the senseless slaughter of our citizens. After nearly 10 years of service, struggle, and sacrifice, we know well the costs of war. These efforts weigh on me every time I, as Commander-in-Chief, have to sign a letter to a family that has lost a loved one, or look into the eyes of a service member who’s been gravely wounded.

So Americans understand the costs of war. Yet as a country, we will never tolerate our security being threatened, nor stand idly by when our people have been killed. We will be relentless in defense of our citizens and our friends and allies. We will be true to the values that make us who we are. And on nights like this one, we can say to those families who have lost loved ones to al Qaeda’s terror: Justice has been done.

Tonight, we give thanks to the countless intelligence and counterterrorism professionals who’ve worked tirelessly to achieve this outcome. The American people do not see their work, nor know their names. But tonight, they feel the satisfaction of their work and the result of their pursuit of justice.

We give thanks for the men who carried out this operation, for they exemplify the professionalism, patriotism, and unparalleled courage of those who serve our country. And they are part of a generation that has borne the heaviest share of the burden since that September day.

Finally, let me say to the families who lost loved ones on 9/11 that we have never forgotten your loss, nor wavered in our commitment to see that we do whatever it takes to prevent another attack on our shores.

And tonight, let us think back to the sense of unity that prevailed on 9/11. I know that it has, at times, frayed. Yet today’s achievement is a testament to the greatness of our country and the determination of the American people.

The cause of securing our country is not complete. But tonight, we are once again reminded that America can do whatever we set our mind to. That is the story of our history, whether it’s the pursuit of prosperity for our people, or the struggle for equality for all our citizens; our commitment to stand up for our values abroad, and our sacrifices to make the world a safer place.

Let us remember that we can do these things not just because of wealth or power, but because of who we are: one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Thank you. May God bless you. And may God bless the United States of America.

A convenience store clerk who had taken a night job to support his family was shot and killed on his last day of work.

A robber entered the 7-Eleven store at 1 a.m. Wednesday at James A. Reed and Bannister roads, pointed a gun at Gurpreet “Tony” Singh and demanded money.

The 35-year-old clerk complied, but was then shot.

Singh was able to call 911 after he was wounded. He died later at a hospital.

“He didn’t resist or anything like that, and still ended up getting shot out of the deal — that’s just uncalled for,” said Rick Hess, who works at LP’s Automotive, which is across the street from the convenience store.

“You know it’s pretty ruthless because the guy gave him the money and everything, then they shot him going out the door. That’s pretty heartless,” LP’s Mark Kinman said.

LP workers said the convenience store clerks are “just as nice as can be.”

Surveillance Video | Share Your Condolences

Another clerk who works at the store told Corrie that Singh was a nice guy and a hard worker.

The clerk said this was supposed to be the victim’s last shift because Singh got a promotion at his other job. Singh also worked at St. Joseph Medical Center and had recently accepted a full-time position there, coworkers told KMBC.

Singh leaves behind two children, a boy and a girl.

“It doesn’t make any sense,” friend MD Alam told KMBC’s Martin Augustine. “His main focus was raising the kids. So, he was always telling me he would make my kids a doctor, a lawyer.”

“Very heartbreaking — it’s a horrible thing to have happen. And I can’t imagine how his family must feel,” neighbor Ramona Raybrook said.

“We would like to get the answers. Who will take care of those kids? Who is responsible? Who will be providing all the support for those two kids?” Alam said.

Police released surveillance video hoping to catch the shooter. They also want to talk to two people — a man and woman — who were in the store just minutes before the robbery. Investigators are not calling them suspects, but said they do want to talk with them about anything they saw.

The same convenience store was robbed two weeks ago, police said.

Anyone with information in the case can call the Crime Stoppers TIPS hot line at 816-474-TIPS.

2009 Nobel Peace Prize Winner US President Barack Obama

Missouri Democratic Party’s Asian American Caucus (The MDPAAC) Leadership is the first to be predicting Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize Winning. MDPAAC Leaderships focusing not only the local issues but also issues in National and International levels.

It is so important that you all should know that “We believe “President Obama deserve the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize”. We believe and we knew that President Obama will be the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner. When Obama became the President of USA, We just do not look at him as the President of USA but as one of the most influential alive person on the earth surface. By comparing Obama with the world’s leadership is the most qualified person to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize of 2009.

The Nobel Peace Prize is set up to the Global Context, not the context of Only USA from Washington to California and New-York to Florida. The Nobel Peace Prize Committee sees Obama as a Global Leader and believe he is the one has done so much to make a Change and the message of Hope over fear. The message of Change was proven at the US General Election of 2008. Obama was able to break and removed the Barrier and that is more than enough to say that he already deserve just by being elected the first Black person as US president in the 300 Years of USA history.

President Obama may don’t see him as he is doing his job but the rest of the world see it from the out side of the box. We are Naturalized US Citizen and we all have diverse overseas experience. We have a lot of experience and we have seen lot of diversity. When we look at our President Obama, we always compare him with the International leaderships, not with Bush, Clinton, Nixon, Regan, Ab Lincoln, Carter or even George Washington. So, by looking at those International leaders Obama has much more leadership quality to influence the humanity. We do believe that by awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to Obama the World Community want to see Obama as the True Peace Maker in this Century. It will be Obama’s Call to comply with this matter.

We strongly support and believe that, the Nobel Peace Prize Committee have been done a fantastic job to be electing Obama as the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner. God Bless Obama and God bless USA and all the humanity that may President Obama will bring the Real Peace to the Global Community.

Please look at these three web link to support our prediction and the fact that we have believed and we knew “Obama’s 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winning”
(1) Press Release to Kansas City Star By: The Chairman of (MDPAAC) Missouri Democratic Party Asian American Caucus MD Alam on February 21st 2009, the very next day of Obama’s Oath to be the President of USA: http://pressreleases.kcstar.com/?q=node/14941

Note: Kansas City-based NABAB welcomes President Obama

NABAB welcomes President Obama and hopes for “Nobel Peace” MD. Alam requests President Obama to handle international challenges promptly as he (MD Alam) mentioned that “I believe President Obama will be the most popular person in 2009 and there is an opportunity that he will be nominated and winner of Nobel Peace Prize for his global leadership.”

(2) Press Release to Kansas City Star by MDPAAC on April 30th 2009, the very next day after meeting with President Obama at Arnold Missouri at the Town Hall Meeting of Obama’s 100th Day Office as the US President: (MD Alam asked President Obama – what will you do to award the Nobel Peace Prize?): http://pressreleases.kcstar.com/?q=node/18738

Note: MD Alam asked President Obama what he would do to bring peace as part of his message of Hope over Fear in the global communities and award the Nobel peace prize in 2009. MD Alam highly expecting for Obama be the 2009 Nobel Peace prize winner.” In answer to MD Alam’s question president Obama responded working on it, need more work done and getting closer and let’s see.
(3) MDPAAC Leadership Blog in www.mybarackobama.com http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/mdalam/gGxSZ8 : MDPAAC Leaders believed and Hope for President Obama be the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize Winner: http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/mdalam/gGxSZ8

Notes: Look at the 3rd Paragraph and you will see this Conversation: “MDPAAC Leaders asked President Obama what would he do to bring peace as part of his message of Hope over Fear in the global communities and award the Nobel peace prize in 2009. MDPAAC is highly expecting for Obama be the 2009 Nobel Peace prize winner.” In answer to MDPAAC Leaderships question president Obama responded working on it, need more work done and getting closer and let’s see. MDPAAC Chairman MD Alam informed president Obama that with the help and support of Missouri Democratic Party Asian American Caucus, change can be done in Missouri political approach by the active participation of Asian American citizens. MD Alam emphasis that, ‘Every single votes count.” As Asian American Caucus we will bring Missouri Together and We Stand United’

In the conclusions, we’ll be honest and firm to convey a message to the citizens, civilian and to the Oval Office that, Yes Obama deserves this 2009 Nobel Peace Prize. It is important that Press and Media help us to explain our ideas and more. Why is it important that we predicted that Obama would win the prize? Why is this significant coming from MDPAAC Leadership? How can we add to what people already know about this situation? Why would people want to hear about it from MDPAAC? We think this commentary could be more powerful if we developed our personal perspective a little more.

Thank you so much,

On behalf of MDPAAC

MD Alam, State Chairman,

Missouri Democratic Party Asian American Caucus (MDPAAC)

“MD Alam welcomes President Obama for the decision of ending Iraqi War”

North American Bangladeshi Association for Bangladesh – NABAB’s President MD Rabbi Alam congratulates and welcomes the US President Barack Obama for his smart decision to end of US-Iraqi war. U.S President Barack Obama consigned the Iraq war to history Friday 27th Feb 2009, declaring he will end combat operations within 18 months and open a new era of diplomacy in the Middle East. MD Alam asked the community members to have a peace in mind for peaceful ending of Iraqi War after long seven years. MD Alam shared his Iraqi deployment experience and his combat experience with the community members and leadership. MD Alam said, “I know exactly how it’s felling, I was in Iraq from Feb 2003 – July 2003 in the combat zone during the “Operation Iraqi Freedom” and I have seen what a real war look like. The war is not a video game, its not like you are just sitting in-front of your TV, Computer and X-box and you are just controlling your own panel. War is a serious matter. I have seen the situation that where you live and see your life in between the stage of life and death. You just don’t know when you will be dying and when something unusual bad thing going to be happening to you and your unit.

MD Alam’s Iraq tour was not fun it was the question of stay alert to be stay alive and to come back to his family. MD Alam mentioned his “Convoy leading experience as his Commander’s Humvey Drivers” and about his six friends in Wourgberg Germany, all of them died in a Chopper crashed in Iraq. MD Alam’s PTSD was high now it’s under control and ending up with 70% service connected disability. When MD Alam was talking about his Iraqi war tour he broken in to tears and finally he thanked President Obama for stopping this Iraqi war which MD Alam was personally, emotionally and physically affected by. MD Alam presented himself as a proud US Veteran and said, yes, I have done my duty now it is time that all our troops should come back home. As soon as President Obama announced that “He will be stopping the combat Operation in Iraq within 18 months and open a new era of diplomacy in the Middle East. Let me say this as plainly as I can by August 31, 2010, our combat mission in Iraq will end”.

MD Alam send a special message to all our citizens, civilians, military families “As I knew, Obama promised us for hope, now I am really hopping that we don’t have to lose anymore of our troops in Iraq hopefully”. NABAB send an official press release to let community members know what President Obama said exactly. Here is the detailed message of President Obama about Iraqi War.

U.S President Barack Obama consigned the Iraq war to history: U.S President Barack Obama consigned the Iraq war to history Friday 27th Feb 2009, declaring he will end combat operations within 18 months and open a new era of diplomacy in the Middle East. “Let me say this as plainly as I can: By August 31, 2010, our combat mission in Iraq will end,” Obama told Marines who are about to deploy by the thousands to the other war front, Afghanistan. Even so, Obama will leave the bulk of troops in place this year, contrary to hopes of Democratic leaders for a speedier pullout. And after combat forces withdraw, 35,000 to 50,000 will stay behind for an additional year and half of support and counterterrorism duties.

Just six weeks into office, Obama used blunt terms and a cast-in-stone promise to write the last chapter of a war that began six years ago. It has cost more in lives, money and national stamina than ever envisioned. Like Dwight Eisenhower and Richard Nixon before him, Obama came into office with an inherited war he pledged to end without delay. Eisenhower did, in Korea. Nixon didn’t, in Vietnam. Obama says he will.

“Iraq‘s future is now its own responsibility,” Obama said. Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, flanked Obama during the announcement. It was a symbolic statement that top military advisers are on board with a strategy some had openly questioned before Obama’s inauguration. More than five years have passed since Bush declared the end of major combat operations in Iraq, a statement that proved false as sectarian violence brought Iraq to the brink of disaster. Obama did not claim a mission accomplished. Instead, he suggested America accomplished the mission as best it could.

“What we will not do is let the pursuit of the perfect stand in the way of achievable goals,” he said. “We cannot rid Iraq of all who oppose America or sympathize with our adversaries. We cannot police Iraq‘s streets until they are completely safe, nor stay until Iraq‘s union is perfected. “He said: “America‘s men and women in uniform have fought block by block, province by province, year after year, to give the Iraqis this chance to choose a better future. Now, we must ask the Iraqi people to seize it.” Obama’s promise to pull home the last of the U.S. troops by the end of 2011 is in accord with a deal that Iraqis signed with former President George W. Bush. Meantime, Obama is accelerating the end of the war by withdrawing roughly 100,000 troops by the summer of 2010. Obama was moving to fulfill in large measure the defining promise of his campaign — to end combat operations within 16 months of taking office. He’s doing it in 19 months instead.

More than 4,250 Americans have been killed in Iraq, a costly, unpopular enterprise at home that Obama criticized when support for the invasion was strong and few other politicians dared stand against it. He applauded the armed forces for its successes in Iraq, where U.S. deaths and violence in many parts of the country are significantly down. He never credited Bush’s buildup of troops in 2007 as contributing to those improvements. To the military members, Obama said: “We will leave the Iraqi people with a hard-earned opportunity to live a better life. That is your achievement. That is the prospect that you have made possible.” The president also told the Iraqi people they will not be forgotten.

“Our nations have known difficult times together,” he said. “But ours is a bond forged by shared bloodshed, and countless friendships among our people. Yet he acknowledged violence will remain “a part of life” and daunting problems include political instability, displaced citizens and the stress of declining oil revenues. Obama said U.S. must end the war, both for the future of Iraq and to allow the U.S. to refocus its attention more firmly on Afghanistan. Reaction came from everywhere. In Iraq, where several TV stations showed Obama’s speech live, some citizens applauded the ironclad withdrawal plan while others questioned whether Iraq could defend itself alone. On Capitol Hill, Democratic leaders remained cool to the suggestion that tens of thousands of troops would remain.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Democratic – Calif., said his announcement was good news because it meant an end to the war, but she cautioned that the troops left behind must have a “clearly defined” mission. Obama succeeded in winning over most Republicans, who initially dismissed the timeline as arbitrary. Sen. John McCain, who lost the presidency to Obama, said he supported the plan. “Let us have no crisis of confidence now,” he told his colleagues on the Senate floor Friday. “Instead, let us welcome home our fighting men and women — not just thanking them for serving in Iraq, but congratulating them on bringing us to victory there.” The president who voted against the war as senator and ran against in his upstart White House bid said the Iraq conflict is one huge, painful lesson. Admonishing the Bush era, Obama said the United States must no longer go to war without clearly defined goals. He said it must communicate the costs of war clearly, use diplomacy as well as military might, and not go it alone in security.

“I promise you that I will only send you into harm’s way when it is absolutely necessary, and provide you with the equipment and support you need to get the job done,” Obama told the United States Marines.

Obama stimulus packet vs. U.S Economical impact

I was very interested in the debate over Obama stimulus packet vs. Economical impact. From what I have read so far House has indeed passed the bill. Finally it happened and took place in reality. The detail of the package is overwhelming though. Increase in funds for health insurance and transportation and lot state funded things. This is absolutely amazing and I am just proud to be around to see if it really helps. But what I think is that some of these governors and mayors need to get together and make sure that the people that receive the funds don’t waste it. Make sure that the housing authority and Social Services don’t give it to people constantly with the receiver not doing anything to better themselves. I believe that people have come accustomed to the lifestyle and some people not all raise there kids in housing because they are happy and settle for where they are now. I am a middle aged young father and husband of 2 and also responsible for my 60 years older mom with a partial percentage of Military Compensation, active member of the city board and a full-time student pursing a career in Education industry and working on my Ph. D in Mathematics Education. I don’t depend on welfare or any handouts never have. Tell me what do you think?

The U.S President Barack Obama gave America the audacity to hope again.

After describing the U.S. economy in nearly apocalyptic terms for weeks, pushing his $787 billion stimulus plan through Congress, the president used his address to Congress on Tuesday night to tap the deep well of American optimism — the never-say-die spirit that every president tries to capture in words. And great presidents embody.

“We will rebuild. We will recover, and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before,” Obama said, echoing Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan.

“The answers to our problems don’t lie beyond our reach,” Obama said. “What is required now is for this country is to pull together, confront boldly the challenges we face, and take responsibility for our future once more.”

The themes of responsibility, accountability and, above all, national community rang throughout an address carefully balanced by the gravity of its times. Job losses, Home foreclosures, Credit crisis, rising health care costs, declining trust in government. Obama touched all those bases.

“The impact of this recession is real, and it is everywhere,” he said.

It seemed that the president might be sticking to the dour talking points of the stimulus debate, when he warned that failure to pass the legislation would lead to a catastrophe “as deep and dire as any since the Great Depression,” one that “we may be unable to reverse.”

Fearing (and hearing) the worst, Americans supported Obama’s package and lawmakers passed it. But his rhetoric carried a risk.

None other than former President Bill Clinton, husband of Obama’s former rival and now the secretary of state, Hillary Rodham Clinton, complained that the president’s words were too much of a downer. The president from Hope, Ark., told the author of “The Audacity of Hope” to get back on message.

“I just want the American people to know that he’s confident that we are going to get out of this and he feels good about the long run,” Clinton told ABC’s “Good Morning America” last Friday.

Obama didn’t need Clinton’s advice. While his advisers privately criticized Clinton for second-guessing their strategy, Obama said a president must be both a realist and a cheerleader. “I’m constantly trying to thread the needle between sounding alarmist but also letting the American people know the circumstances that we’re in,” Obama told ABC on Saturday.

Indeed, advisers said at the time that Obama had already written much of his address, and they predicted that it would mark a rhetorical pivot — from selling fear to raising hopes.

And that he did.

“You should also know,” Obama told millions of viewers Tuesday night, “that the money you’ve deposited in banks across the country is safe; your insurance is secure; you can rely on the continued operation of our financial system.”

He sounded like Roosevelt who, after closing banks briefly in the first days of his presidency, stoked the embers of American optimism. “Confidence and courage are the essentials of success in carrying out our plan,” Roosevelt said. “Let us unite in banishing fear. We have provided the machinery to restore our financial system. It is up to you to support and make it work. It is your problem no less than it is mine. Together we cannot fail.”

Like Roosevelt, Obama asked Americans to unite against pessimism. “We are a nation that has seen promise amid peril, and claimed opportunity from ordeal,” Obama said. “Now we must be that nation again.”

Like Roosevelt, Obama said his government had already provided the machinery to create jobs, improve access to health care, free up credit and help struggling homeowners.

And, like Roosevelt, he challenged Americans to help fix the nation’s woes. Obama even challenged his fellow citizens to recognize their role in creating the problem. “People bought homes they knew they couldn’t afford,” Obama said, “from banks and lenders who pushed those bad loans anyway.”

He was blunt but bullish on America.

“None of this will come without cost, nor will it be easy,” he said after spelling out his agenda. “But this is America. We don’t do what’s easy. We do what is necessary to move this country forward.”

In short, he reminded people that America has always seen itself as a “shining city upon a hill,” as one of its earliest leaders, John Winthrop, put it — a metaphor that Ronald Reagan reintroduced effectively in the 1980s.

When he addressed Congress, Reagan liked to pepper the audience with average people who did extraordinary things and epitomized the American spirit. Obama borrowed that device, inviting Ty’Sheoma Bethea to join first lady Michelle Obama in the crowd.

Bethea is an eighth-grade student who wrote Congress for help in repairing her dilapidated school, telling lawmakers that she and her fellow students will rise above their conditions because, “We are not quitters.”

Some highlights of the package, by the numbers:

• $787 billion total (as of 1/15/09) – (Actual Bill) – (Estimated $870B)
• $550 billion in new spending, described as thoughtful and carefully targeted priority investments with unprecedented accountability measures built in.
• $275 billion in tax relief ($1,000 tax cut for families, $500 tax cut for individuals through SS payroll deductions)
• $ 90 billion for infrastructure
• $ 87 billion Medicaid aid to states
• $ 79 billion school districts/public colleges to prevent cutbacks
• $ 16 billion for science/technology ($10 billion for science facilities, research, and instrumentation; $6 billion to expand broadband to rural areas)
• $ 15 billion to increase Pell grants by $500
• $ 6 billion for the ambiguous “higher education modernization

Who the hell is Juval Aviv?

Regardless, he can not call young college attending foreign students as young terrorists. He is completely mentally sick and I believe he should not deserve any means of security consulting job. It would be great shame for our nation.

I was reading his predictions. It does not make any sence but calling the young college goings kids as young terrorist is completely unethical and he does not have any right to call college attending foreign studnents who are frequently visiting their family as young terrorist. Besides these, I think its all came in his mind how to plot a terrorist act that why he mentioned and teaching terrorist how to occur a terrorist act.

Here is the Prediction what I have read,
“1) Our airport technology is outdated. We look for metal, and the new explosives are made of plastic.

2) He talked about how some idiot tried to light his shoe on fire. Because of that, now everyone has to take off their shoes. A group of idiots tried to bring aboard liquid explosives. Now we can’t bring liquids on board. He says he’s waiting for some suicidal maniac to pour liquid explosive on his underwear; at which point, security will have us all traveling naked! Every strategy we have is ‘reactionary.’

3) We only focus on security when people are heading to the gates.

Aviv says that if a terrorist attack targets airports in the future, they will target busy times on the front end of the airport when/where people are checking in. It would be easy for someone to take two suitcases of explosives, walk up to a busy check-in line, ask a person next to them to watch their bags for a minute while they run to the restroom or get a drink, and then detonate the bags BEFORE security even gets involved. In Israel , security checks bags BEFORE people can even ENTER the airport.

Aviv says the next terrorist attack here in America is imminent and will involve suicide bombers and non-suicide bombers in places where large groups of people congregate. (i. e., Disneyland, Las Vegas casinos, big cities (New York, San Francisco, Chicago, etc.) and that it will also include shopping malls, subways in rush hour, train stations, etc., as well as rural America this time (Wyoming, Montana, etc.).

The attack will be characterized by simultaneous detonations around the country (terrorists like big impact), involving at least 5-8 cities, including rural areas.

Aviv says terrorists won’t need to use suicide bombers in many of the larger cities, because at places like the MGM Grand in Las Vegas , they can simply valet park a car loaded with explosives and walk away.

Aviv says all of the above is well known in intelligence circles, but that our U. S. government does not want to ‘alarm American citizens’ with the facts. The world is quickly going to become ‘a different place’, and issues like ‘global warming’ and political correctness will become totally irrelevant.

On an encouraging note, he says that Americans don’t have to be concerned about being nuked. Aviv says the terrorists who want to destroy America will not use sophisticated weapons. They like to use suicide as a front-line approach. It’s cheap, it’s easy, it’s effective; and they have an infinite abundance of young militants more than willing to ‘meet their destiny’.

He also says the next level of terrorists, over which America should be most concerned, will not be coming from abroad. But will be, instead, ‘homegrown’ — having attended and been educated in our own schools and universities right here in the U. S. He says to look for ‘students’ who frequently travel back and forth to the Middle East . These young terrorists will be most dangerous because they will know our language and will fully understand the habits of Americans; but that we Americans won’t know/understand a thing about them.

Aviv says that, as a people, Americans are unaware and uneducated about the terroristic threats we will, inevitably, face. America still has only have a handful of Arabic and Farsi speaking people in our intelligence networks, and Aviv says it is critical that we change that fact SOON.
So, what can America do to protect itself? From an intelligence perspective, Aviv says the U.S. needs to stop relying on satellites and technology for intelligence. We need to, instead, follow Israel ‘s, Ireland ‘s and England ‘s hands-on examples of human intelligence, both from an infiltration perspective as well as to trust ‘aware’ citizens to help. We need to engage and educate ourselves as citizens; however, our U. S. government continues to treat us, its citizens, ‘like babies’. Our government thinks we ‘can’t handle the truth’ and are concerned that we’ll panic if we understand the realities of terrorism. Aviv says this is a deadly mistake.

Aviv recently created/executed a security test for our Congress, by placing an empty briefcase in five well-traveled spots in five major cities. The results? Not one person called 911 or sought a policeman to check it out. In fact, in Chicago , someone tried to steal the briefcase!
In comparison, Aviv says that citizens of Israel are so well ‘trained’ that an unattended bag or package would be reported in seconds by citizen(s) who know to publicly shout, ‘Unattended Bag!’ The area would be quickly & calmly cleared by the citizens themselves. But, unfortunately, America hasn’t been yet ‘hurt enough’ by terrorism for their government to fully understand the need to educate its citizens or for the government to understand that it’s their citizens who are, inevitably, the best first-line of defense against terrorism.

Aviv also was concerned about the high number of children here in America who were in preschool and kindergarten after 9/11, who were ‘lost’ without parents being able to pick them up, and about our schools that had no plan in place to best care for the students until parents could get there. (In New York City , this was days, in some cases!)

He stresses the importance of having a plan, that’s agreed upon within your family, to respond to in the event of a terroristic emergency. He urges parents to contact their children’s schools and demand that the schools, too, develop plans of actions, as they do in Israel ..

Does your family know what to do if you can’t contact one another by phone? Where would you gather in an emergency? He says we should all have a plan that is easy enough for even our youngest children to remember and follow.

Aviv says that the U. S. government has in force a plan that, in the event of another terrorist attack, will immediately cut-off EVERYONE’s ability to use cell phones, blackberries, etc., as this is the preferred communication source used by terrorists and is often the way that their bombs are detonated.

How will you communicate with your loved ones in the event you cannot speak? You need to have a plan.”

Mr. Juval Aviv, your predictions failed and dont even try any more. By the way, your pridictions are highly questionable. (MD. Rabbi Alam)

Welcome to Md Alam’s web Blog.

===================================================

Was Iraq War Really Worthy?

On March 18, 2008, former U.S President George W. Bush said he has no doubts about launching the unpopular war in Iraq despite the “high cost in lives and treasure,” arguing that retreat now would embolden Iran and provide al-Qaida with money for weapons of mass destruction to attack the United States.

At the time of Bush’s mark of the fifth anniversary of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, on a speech at the Pentagon Bush mentioned that Iraq War was worth-full. Excerpts of his address were released by the White House.

We have at least 31,054 members of the U.S military casualties since the beginning of the war in 2003. The cost of Iraqi war estimates about $9 Billion monthly and of the final tab run far higher. Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph E. Stiglizt and Harvard University public finance expert Linda Bilmes have estimated the eventual cost at more than $3 Trillion when all the expenses, including long-term care for veterans, are calculated.

Democrats offered a different view from Bush’s.

“On this grim milestone, it is worth remembering how we got into this situation, and thinking about how best we can get out,” said Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich. “The tasks that remain in Iraq _ to bring an end to sectarian conflict, to devise a way to share political power, and to create a functioning government that is capable of providing for the needs of the Iraqi people are tasks that only the Iraqis can complete.”

In his remarks, Bush repeated his oft-stated determination to prosecute the war into the unforeseen future.

“The successes we are seeing in Iraq are undeniable, yet some in Washington still call for retreat,” the president said. “War critics can no longer credibly argue that we are losing in Iraq, so now they argue the war costs too much. In recent months, we have heard exaggerated estimates of the costs of this war.

“No one would argue that this war has not come at a high cost in lives and treasure, but those costs are necessary when we consider the cost of a strategic victory for our enemies in Iraq,” Bush said.

Bush has successfully defied efforts by the Democratic-led Congress to force troop withdrawals or set deadlines for pullouts. It is widely believed he will endorse a recommendation from Gen.David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, for no additional troop reductions, beyond those already planned, until at least September.

The U.S. now has about 158,000 troops in Iraq. That number is expected to drop to 140,000 by summer in draw-downs meant to erase all but about 8,000 troops from last year’s buildup.

“If we were to allow our enemies to prevail in Iraq, the violence that is now declining would accelerate and Iraq could descend into chaos,” Bush said. “Al-Qaida would regain its lost sanctuaries and establish new ones fomenting violence and terror that could spread beyond Iraq’s borders, with serious consequences to the world economy.

“Out of such chaos in Iraq, the terrorist movement could emerge emboldened with new recruits … new resources … and an even greater determination to dominate the region and harm America,” Bush said in his remarks. “An emboldened al-Qaida with access to Iraq’s oil resources could pursue its ambitions to acquire weapons of mass destruction to attack America and other free nations. Iran could be emboldened as well with a renewed determination to develop nuclear weapons and impose its brand of hegemony across the broader Middle East. And our enemies would see an American failure in Iraq as evidence of weakness and lack of resolve.”

Looking back, Bush said, “Five years into this battle, there is an understandable debate over whether the war was worth fighting … whether the fight is worth winning … and whether we can win it. The answers are clear to me: Removing Saddam Hussein from power was the right decision and this is a fight America can and must win.”

Bush said the past five years have brought “moments of triumph and moments of tragedy,” from free elections in Iraq to acts of brutality and violence.

“The terrorists who murder the innocent in the streets of Baghdad want to murder the innocent in the streets of American cities. Defeating this enemy in Iraq will make it less likely we will face this enemy here at home,” Bush said.

Bush said anew that the war was faltering a little more than a year ago, prompting him in January 2007 to order a big troop buildup known as the “surge.”

“The surge has done more than turn the situation in Iraq around; it has opened the door to a major strategic victory in the broader war on terror,” he said.

“In Iraq, we are witnessing the first large-scale Arab uprising against Osama bin Laden, his grim ideology, and his terror network. And the significance of this development cannot be overstated,” that is what former U.S President Bush said.
